Donations to Family Justice Center of Central Louisiana are completely tax deductible using the receipt.
If you are interested in donating your gently used clothing or household goods to the Justice Center please feel free to bring them by the Center, preferably on Tuesdays between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM. You can also bring these items to New to You, St. Nicholas Thrift Shop, and Helping Hands tell them that you are donating them on behalf of the Family Justice Center. These thrift stores then allow our survivors to shop at their stores using vouchers from our Center!

We keep non-perishable food items on hand for our survivors and their children. As we all know children are always hungry for a snack. Crackers, granola bars, mac and cheese cups, and juice boxes go a long way in making the children feel comfortable and protected while at our Center.
When survivors are in need of a protective order, they are often at our Center for most of the day, often times during lunch. Tuna/chicken packs, protein bars, popcorn, etc. provide our survivors with something to eat while completing this lengthy, yet vitally important task.
In addition to feeding survivors while at the Center, many of the families we see benefit greatly from taking a few pantry items with them when they leave. Canned goods, cereal, canned proteins, breakfast items, etc. are all welcome items that give our survivors and their children proper nutrition while in this important transitional phase.
During our day-to-day operations our survivors of violence go through many bottles of water and cups of coffee. When each person comes through our door they are immediately offered water, coffee, and a snack to give them some sense of comfort and normalcy. We rely heavily on donations to keep these items in stock. Cases of water, packs of coffee, sugar, creamer, coffee cups and stirrers are very often in short supply.

Donations to PROVIDE CLOTHING AND ESSENTIAL NEEDS
$250 Donation - This donation goes toward the purchase of a Ring Doorbell Camera or a locksmith to come out and change the locks and reinforce the doors. It may also pay for a hotel stay and food when a victim and their children are actively fleeing a dangerous situation. These safety measures provide a sense of security and add another barrier between a victim and their abuser.
$100 Donation - This donation goes toward the purchase of clothing and essential needs items for our clients and their families. Oftentimes victims arrive at the center with only the clothes on their back and without the financial means to purchase any additional items for themselves or their families. We put together care packages for them including clothing items, self-care items, and basic household cleaning supplies.
$50 Donation - This donation goes toward providing clients and their families with gift packages or gift baskets during the holidays. Whether it is Easter or Christmas, we want these children to experience the joy that comes with opening gifts and celebrating with their families.
$25 Donation - This donation goes toward providing clients with a workbook, notebook, and other educational reading materials when they participate in individual and group counseling sessions. These help with healing and ways to overcome the trauma and abuse they experienced through domestic violence.
